My boyfriend and I both got bikes, Ninja 250’s, they’re great to start out on, you can also always get a cheap dirt bike to practice on to get used to everything. Just depends on what you’re looking for and what’s available in your area.
If you are looking for a chopper and not a sport bike the Harley-Davidson Sportster is the perfect starter bike. Not too much power, but just enough to scare the crap out of you and make you respect it.
You cant get much for that price. I am totally against learning to ride on a small bike. I think if you get anything under 750cc than you aren’t really learning how to ride, because anything below 750cc is a completely different book. The ride is just incredibly different. I learned on a 1000cc bike. I just cocked my wrist before actually putting my hand on the throttle, that way I couldn’t give it to much power even if I wanted.
