    The technology used in the Forester is more refined, therefore it boils down to
    “What do you want to be seen driving”. Toyota and Subaru both have excellent
    features and are very reliable.

    Subaru is known for its workmanship, not that Toyota is poor quality, but Subaru has made very high quality products for a long time now and it will stand up to whatever you put it through(short of a demo derby). Toyota has also made very good quality products for quite a while. That being said, I believe that the average cost of the same repair to each of these would be almost identical. I would tell you to go with the one that makes you happy. Both will last a long time if properly maintained and both will provide many years of fun and adventure. Subaru’s awd system is incredible, so if you are somewhere that has rough winters, I’d go with the Subaru, otherwise, I personally like the look and feel of the RAV4. Hope that helps.
