There are two engines avalible that year. Both are fuel injected, so there is no carb on those cars. Take it to the shop. It probably needs plugs and wires, or mayby a fuel pump, or mayby a computer, or maybe a short in a wire somewhere? Take it to the shop and get it fixed by the pros and save yourself some money.

Um I’m pretty sure your car doesn’t have a carb. It is fuel injected. And if your alternator was bad it wouldn’t charge the battery and the car wouldn’t even start or it would suddenly die while your driving and not start back up. You need to check the fuel injectors. If the alternator is bad the car will only be able to run off the battery until the battery runs out of juice. Then it will die.- Probably in traffic, if you have luck like mine.

    use a crowbar…

and no the alternator would not make your car stall…

if the alternator is bad the car just runs off the battery…

It’s probably the IAC motor. No carb. If you don’t know that it is injected rather than carburetted, you might not oughta fool with it.

all those year cars have fuel injection. if you suspect a fuel problem start by replacing the fuel filter if it hasn’t been done already. next check the fuel pressure on the fuel rail that feeds the injectors. if the pressure is below spec (40psi??), could be a bad pump. it it’s spec but bleeds off too fast, look for a bad fuel pressure regulator.
