The car is too new to take a chance on a “rebuilt” transmission which has no good warranty with it like a new remanufactured transmission from GM or has (3 year 100,000 mile warranty). Put a new transmission in it and know you’ve fixed the problem. Anybody and their brother can claim to “rebuild” transmissions.

Sounds about right. You may be able to get it done a bit cheaper if you have a salvage yard unit installed
for a transmission its a little overpriced because transmissions are very expensive to have replaced. Its probably overpriced though for a pontiac.
