Then there is the wonderfully handsome MBz 190SL sports car that was built in the 1960s. I saw 4 or 5 of them at a recent car show in IRVINE, CA at the Ford Center.
I was intimate with a 1960 190d my dad had, kinda followed the 200d 220d. Also had a Mercedes 240D proto type from Mercedes that included a turbo. It did not have the same lubrication system of a 300 5 cylinder hence why it self destructed. Rebuilt it with out the turbo and installed it in a pick up, and it ran for a few hundred thousand miles before i sold it.
The 50’s and 60’s gas engines were reliable when setup correctly. but shessh cars of that era German British or American needed patience and TLC
What is it you are looking for? I may have some old manuals and books somewhere.
There are lots of them.
The 230E (gas, late 70’s)
The 190C (gas, early-mid 50’s)
The 200D (diesel, early-mid 60’s)
Just to name a few examples.
