1993 Jeep Cherokee wont start and if it does it shuts down after a few minutes?

I had asked a question earlier about my jeep. I got it started really easy tonight but i put it in reverse for about 10 ft and then it just shut down after i put it in drive. The engine didnt rev up like it did earlier it just shut down. Any ideas with what the problem might be? I dont know a whole lot about cars so i have no idea what is wrong with it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    it’s broken…have it towed to a mechanic…duh

  2. i have the same probblem with my 1990 plymouth laser..but i got it fixed today…u need a oil change a new fuel filter and new spark plugs

  3. There are hundreds f possible reasons that this is happening, it could be a chock in the fuel line, the fuel injector, the timing could be off on the alternator, and hundreds of other causes.

Find a trustworthy mechanic and have them check it out.

  4. bad crank sensor, map sensor, ignition ground, it could be alot of things. is the check engine light on? check for vacuum leaks.

  5. Hi …I had a friend with a jeep that had kind of the same thing happen ….it turned out to be the fuel pump… located on the fuel tank …not an easy do it your self project .
